  • Note: Mitchiner identified the reverse type of the issue as: Messalina standing facing with her left hand outstretched over one of the three children, probably Britannicus, who has both arms spread. The initials of their names form the legend M(essalina) A(ntonia) - O(ctavia) B(ritannicus). The specimen in Stannard's catalogue is clearer, and provides a new identification.
