  • Note: Rostovtzeff's description, based on a piece in the BM (?) is Mars (or soldier) standing right, holding spear in right hand and shield (scutum) in extended left, S in left field, C in right / Mars (or soldier) standing right, holding spear in right hand and shield (scutum) in extended left. No such imagery appears among pieces in the British Museum. Instead, that is supplied here is the type of BMCRLT no. 1042, which seems to have been the piece from which Rostovtzeff gathered the description of the type.
