Note: CIL XV,2,995 n. 3. A mould half for this token is in the Altes Museum in Berlin (https://coins.warwick.ac.uk/token-types/id/TURS3578).
The token refers to M. Valerius M. f. Etruscus. Rostovtzeff suggests he was from the same family as the Etruscus, who in 152
AD was legate in Africa. Prosop. Imp. Romani III, 356, 48. Rostovtzeff identified the representation as that of Mercury holding
a purse, but the absence of a caduceus and the long draped tunic suggest a different identification. TURS Pl. XI, 21.
