Description: Garigliano river, 80 miles south of Rome and 35 miles north of Naples. The co-ordinates here are merely representative rather
than an accurate find location. The tokens were recovered along with a miniature decorated leaden two-handled amphora, and
(reportedly) further tokens and votive objects (e.g. small statuettes) and leaden defixio curses. Apparently they were recovered
from the river in a single scoop of the dredge. Mitchiner notes the overall assembly suggests deposition in a local river
shrine.
