  • Description: Rome, Tevere. From the dredging of the Tiber between 1965 and 1975. King reports they were found as a group in the river some way below Rome, apparently at the site of an ancient smelting works (the course of the river having shifted) which also produced many larger bronze coins, quadrantes, nails, fish hooks, needles, surgical instruments, and broken pieces of statuary.
